Hi there everyone and welcome to my little corner of the Internet. This first post is going to be a short one.
Some of you may know that this isn’t the first iteration of my website. Back in 2022 I taught myself a bit of HTML and CSS using W3schools and wrote a blog website in the hope that I could write about some of the work I was doing with my school’s racing team, Firefly. The problem? I spent the best part of a month making small style adjustments, adding fancy animations and spent absolutely no time actually writing.
Another issue I had is that I didn’t really have anything of value to write about at the time, so I quickly lost motivation and shelved the project.
In the present day, I’d like to think that I do actually have interesting things to write about so I revisited the idea of building a website. I wanted to avoid the previous mistake I made of wasting time making something with flashy animations and bloated stylesheets so I settled on the, quite minimal, design as it is today.
I’m going to commit to writing a post every fortnight or so for at least the next few months until I feel I’ve exhausted my supply. These posts may vary from small 1 weekend jobs to longer-term larger-scale projects I've worked on, some of which may be split into multiple parts if they deserve it.

With that out of the way, it's time to actually start talking about engineering.
